An impassioned educationist since last 23 years, Ms.NeelamThapliyal is Post Graduate in English and Psychology. She is an alumnus of Panjab University, Chandigarh and has done PG Diploma in Journalismfrom BhartiyaVidyaBhawan, Gomti Nagar, Luchnow. She was associated with The Hindustan Times, Lucknow and The Tribune, Chandigarh. She has keen interest in Hindustani vocal music, sports and writing.
A recipient of UttarakhandShikshaRatna Award and a qualified Guidance and Career Counsellor, (from ICS, Lucknow under Dr Amrita Dass), her write ups have found place in The Times of India (NIE Editions). She also writes for a digital magazine ‘That’s Write’ on regular basis. She has conducted a conference on Gender Sensitivity which earned accolades by parents as well as the chief guest of the event Ms RamindriMandrawal, the then Secretary, State Women Commission.
As a teacher and head teacher, she delivered excellent results. She ensured that her students flourish and make progress in life. She is a genuine person for whom compassion, empathy and integrity are assets of any human being that help him /her climb up the ladders of success. She has always contributed to the growth of the organisations wherever she has worked. She has a vast experience of working in different schools of the country. She has worked with City Montessori School, Lucknow, Air Force School, 3 BRD, Chandigarh, Christ King School, Kapurthala, Punjab, Doon International School, Dehradun and Vantage Hall Girls’ Residential School, Doonga, Dehradun.
She is associated with Akashwani, Dehradun and works as a Casual Editor there. She also holds a certificate from John Hopkins University, USA in Psychological First Aid (Coursera). As she believes, learning can be done at any point of time and is a constant process, recently, she did certificate courses from the Swayam, NPTEL based on All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on Educational Leadership and Adolescent Health and Well Being.
She strongly believes in the saying by famous American football coach Pete Carroll that “Each person holds so much power within that needs to be let out. Sometimes they just need a little nudge, a little direction, a little support, a little coaching and the greatest thing can happen.
