Building Tomorrow's Athletes

At DPS Rishikesh, we believe a healthy body fuels a healthy mind. Physical fitness and sports are an essential part of our curriculum and are compulsory for all students.

Our campus offers a variety of well-designed sports spaces that encourage students to stay active, practice regularly and enjoy the spirit of sportsmanship.

A dedicated play area for Pre-Primary and Primary ensures safe and age-appropriate physical activity for our youngest learners. Our sports facilities include:

Yoga

Students practice simple yoga postures and breathing exercises in a peaceful space on campus. Sessions are guided by teachers and focus on flexibility, balance, and calmness. Yoga helps students stay active, relaxed, and attentive, supporting both physical health and mental focus in their daily school routine.

Cricket

The school ground allows students to play cricket using proper equipment. They learn basic batting, bowling, and fielding while playing together in teams. Teachers guide students on rules and fair play, helping them enjoy the game, stay active, and develop coordination and teamwork naturally.

Fencing

Students are introduced to fencing using safe equipment in a supervised area. They learn basic movements, control, and balance while playing in a structured setting. The activity helps improve focus, coordination, and discipline, while also teaching students to respect rules and opponents during play.

Football

A dedicated field gives students space to play football regularly. They learn passing, movement, and teamwork while playing with classmates. Teachers supervise sessions to ensure safety and understanding of the game, helping students build stamina, coordination, and a strong sense of cooperation.

Athletics (Track and Field)

Students take part in running, jumping, and throwing activities in open ground areas. These activities help improve strength, speed, and endurance. With teacher guidance, students learn the importance of regular movement, healthy competition, and personal effort through simple athletic events and school activities.

Volleyball

Volleyball is played on a marked court using proper nets and equipment. Students learn to serve, pass, and play as a team while enjoying the game. The activity helps improve coordination and communication while encouraging students to stay active and work together in a positive environment.

Basketball

The basketball court allows students to play and practice basic skills like dribbling and shooting. Teachers ensure students understand the rules and play safely. The game helps improve fitness, balance, and teamwork while giving students an energetic and enjoyable way to stay physically active.

Badminton

Badminton is played on designated courts with appropriate equipment. Students learn basic strokes and movement while playing singles and doubles games. The sport helps improve focus, reflexes, and coordination, offering students a fun indoor and outdoor activity that supports overall physical development.

Taekwondo

Students learn basic self-defense movements and body control in a safe and supervised space. Sessions focus on discipline, balance, and controlled movement. The activity helps students build confidence, strength, and awareness while learning respect, patience, and self-control as part of school life.
