DPS Rishikesh enthusiastically observed Bagless Day on 26th July, with a wide range of engaging and hands-on activities conducted across all classes, encouraging students to learn through observation, expression and collaboration.
The day began on a peaceful note with a rejuvenating yoga session, promoting mindfulness, calmness, and a healthy start.
Classes 9 and 10 brought history to life through roleplays on the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and the French Revolution, offering students a deeper insight into revolutionary events. Class 12 explored the types of leaves, learning about photo inhibition, vein arrangements, and natural adaptations for conserving water.
Class 8-A took part in two insightful activities—Data Handling in Mathematics, where students collected data and presented it using pie charts, and a Moral Science activity on Civic Sense, promoting cleanliness and responsible disposal of waste.
The Queen of Sheeba activity in Class 7-A aimed to educate students about the diverse world of plants and their numerous uses. Through this interactive experience, students explored various plant species, learning about their medicinal, culinary, and cultural significance.
Class 6-B and 8-A collaboratively explored shapes and mathematical operations, strengthening spatial awareness and teamwork. Meanwhile, Class 6-A participated in a self-awareness activity through drawing, expressing their emotions and learning to understand others through art.
Cyber safety was also addressed through informative videos, making students aware of online threats and protective measures.
Class 5 conducted a creative Maths activity where students calculated the area of objects like swings, desks, and tables using the measurement of their own hands, encouraging practical and relatable application of concepts.
In the primary wing, Class 3 explored the House of Hundreds, developing a strong understanding of place value. Class 4 engaged in two activities—Clock Making to understand time, and Word Formation for enhancing spelling and vocabulary.
In Hindi, Class 4 delved into the lesson “Daan ka Hisaab”, learning the true meaning of selfless giving and humility, especially when placed in a position of power.
Younger classes enjoyed a listening game that fostered attentiveness and quick response.
Language skills were showcased through inter-house Hindi competitions—extempore for Classes 3–5, quiz for Classes 6–8, and debate for Classes 9–12.

encourage expressive communication and unlock the imaginative potential of young minds, an English Story Telling Competition was held for Grade 1 and 2 students on Friday, 12th July 2025. The event served as a wonderful platform for students to showcase their storytelling abilities through voice modulation, gestures, expressions, and creativity.
Divided into two categories—Category A (Class 1) and Category B (Class 2)—the competition brought out some truly inspiring performances.
After careful evaluation by our esteemed panel of judges the results announced were as follows:
Each young orator captivated the audience with their engaging narratives, confident delivery, and imaginative story telling. Their performances were a testament to the importance of nurturing communication skills from an early age.

DPS Rishikesh celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The morning began with the unfurling of the tricolour by our reverend Pro Vice Chairman, Mr. Keshav Mohan, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, filling the campus with pride and unity.
The Pro Vice Chairman delivered a heartwarming and inspiring address, focusing on the importance of personal development as a key to nation-building. He urged everyone to rise above distinctions of caste, creed and social position, fostering love and respect for one another. His message resonated deeply with the audience, reminding us that true freedom lies in harmony, empathy, and continuous self-growth.
Delhi Public School, Rishikesh celebrated the spirit of Janmashtami with an energetic inter-house dance competition in category 9th to 12th on 2nd August 2025. Each house beautifully portrayed episodes from Lord Krishna’s life through vibrant costumes, graceful movements, and expressive storytelling.
Satluj House emerged as the winner, followed by Yamuna House in second place and Chenab House in third. The performances filled the atmosphere with devotion and festivity.
Principal Mrs. Neelam Thapliyal congratulated all participants for their dedication and creativity, applauding the celebration of culture through dance.
A fun-filled Math Activity Day was held to strengthen number concepts across early grades. Pre-Nursery and Nursery students enjoyed a hands-on counting activity, while Prep focused on number recognition. Grade 1 engaged in arranging numbers in ascending and descending order, and Grade 2 worked on understanding expanded forms. The activities made learning enjoyable and interactive for all.
The Inter-House Mathematics Quiz, held on 19th July 2025, was a showcase of logical thinking, numerical aptitude, and teamwork. Students from Grades 3 to 12 participated enthusiastically, representing the four houses — Ganga, Yamuna, Satluj, and Chenab.

As part of Mathematics Week, engaging activities were conducted for Grades 3 to 5.
In Grade 3, students explored the concept of the number system and expanded form using everyday objects like books, boxes, and pencils to represent hundreds, tens, and ones respectively. This hands-on approach helped them clearly understand place value and how to write numbers in their expanded form.
In the "Tick-Tock" activity, Grade 4 students created working clocks to learn about time concepts. They understood hour and minute hands, a.m./p.m., and 12-hour and 24-hour clock conversions. This hands-on experience helped students grasp time-telling skills and develop a clear understanding of time units.
In Grade 5, an innovative activity on calculating area without using a scale was conducted. Students estimated the area of objects around them—like desks, swings, and whiteboards—by using their hand area as a unit of measurement. This encouraged estimation skills and spatial understanding in a fun, practical manner.
During the Mathematics Week celebrations at DPS Rishikesh, students of Classes 6A and 6B took part in an engaging activity titled Patterns Around Us. The activity aimed to help students observe and understand various patterns found in their surroundings and identify the general rule behind each pattern. It provided a fun and interactive platform for students to explore mathematical concepts through real-life examples.
Students from Classes 9 to 12 participated in a creative and concept-based Maths activity. The activity focused on exploring the relationship between the area of a circle and the area of a rectangle, depending on the central angle. Through hands-on practice and visual demonstrations, students understood how portions of a circle could be compared to rectangular shapes, enhancing their grasp of geometrical concepts. The activity promoted critical thinking and deepened their understanding of mathematical relationships through real-world applications.
A plantation drive was conducted at Delhi Public School, Rishikesh on 22nd July, 2025, with the aim of fostering environmental awareness and a sense of responsibility among students.
The students of Class 12th, accompanied by the Principal, Mrs. Neelam Thapliyal, and teachers, planted saplings within the school premises. This thoughtful initiative by the outgoing batch served as a symbolic gesture—leaving behind a living legacy that will continue to grow with the institution.
Junior students also took part in the drive with great enthusiasm. Guided by their Principal and teachers, they engaged in age-appropriate plantation activities, learning about the importance of trees and sustainability. The experience nurtured in them a deep respect for nature and encouraged them to contribute to a greener future.
The drive reflected the school’s unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and offered all students a meaningful opportunity to connect with and care for their natural surroundings.
Our summer camp concluded with great enthusiasm, offering children a fun-filled experience with ample learning opportunities. The vibrant displays showcased a range of activities, including Fencing, Taekwondo,Yoga, Dance, Music, Art & Craft, Cricket, Volleyball, Football, Skating, Table-Tennis and Horse Riding. Ms. Pratima, a counseling psychologist, conducted a safeguarding program for students on good and bad touch. They learned to differentiate between safe and unsafe touch through engaging activities. Students understood the importance of saying "no" and telling a trusted adult if they feel uncomfortable or scared.
Our students showcased exceptional skills in the inter-house table tennis competition, competing in Grade 6-8 and 9-12 categories. DPS Rishikesh celebrated Mother's Day with great enthusiasm. Dr. Bindu Dey, Former Secretary, Technology Development Board, was the Chief Guest. She motivated mothers to prioritize their own lives alongside motherhood. A presentation on child psychology by Ms. Chitrakshi Tewari and Mrs. Sakshi Raikwal engaged mothers in fun games. Principal Mrs. Neelam Thapliyal emphasized the preciousness of motherhood, inspiring mothers to cherish their roles. The event fostered a sense of community, with mothers actively participating in activities and enjoying each other's company. It was a memorable day celebrating motherhood.
On April 26th, 2025, DPS Rishikesh celebrated a significant milestone with its Investiture Ceremony, marking the official induction of newly elected student leaders. The event began with the lighting of the lamp and sacred mantras, setting a dignified tone for the occasion.
Distinguished guests, Pro VC Mr. Keshav Mohan and Director Mr. Sanjay Kuqsal, delivered motivational speeches, highlighting the importance of discipline and leadership. Principal Ms. Neelam Thapliyal congratulated the newly elected leaders, urging them to embrace their roles with dedication and passion.
The newly elected Prefectorial Body for 2025-26 includes student leaders who will take on various responsibilities, including leadership positions in academics, sports, and cultural activities. The student leaders were presented with badges and sashes, symbolizing their new roles.
Parents were proud to witness their children take on leadership roles, and the ceremony marked a special moment for families to celebrate their child's growth and achievements.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice Principal Ms. Deepika Joshi, as the newly elected council members prepared to lead with enthusiasm and commitment.
